It does not corrode metals except magnesium and magnesium alloy. It does not dissolve in water, but can easily dissolve in hydrocarbons, halohydrocarbons and certain solvents at any ratio. As a convenient and
safe refrigerant, it can be used in various refrigeration systems with a temperature range from -60~C to 10~C.

CFC-11 is a colorless and transparent liquid at room temperature. It is non-flammable, inexplosive and Iow toxicity. It almost does not dissolve in water, but can dis-solve in alcohol, ether, oil and many hydrocarbons. It is mainly used as foaming agent for polyurethane foam.
